What's Right About America.

One of New York's Bravest made a death-defying rescue in The Bronx yesterday when he plunged into stormy waters in his skivvies to pull a drowning boater to safety.
Firefighter Ralph Manfredonia, 32, who responded to the call on City Island with Ladder 53, realized there wasn't a moment to spare when he heard the frantic cries of onlookers, stripping out of his gear, scaling a barbed wire fence and plunging into wind-whipped water

Rep. Peter King-A New York congressman says Michael Jackson was a "pervert" and calls on society to stop "glorifying" the late entertainer in a YouTube video.
Rep. Peter King said Jackson -- whom he called a "low-life" -- is being glorified in the days after his death while society ignores the efforts, of teachers, police officers, firefighters and veterans. In the two-minute video, King claims the "day in and day out" coverage of Jackson's death is "too politically correct."

Congresswoman Michelle Bachmann says she's so worried that information from next year's national census will be abused that she will refuse to fill out anything more than the number of people in her household.

South Carolina Governor Mark Sanford -Angry state legislators and picketing teachers still haven't swayed Mark Sanford. The conservative governor of South Carolina is ignoring opponents and his dipping approval rating, now at 40%, because he's wary of federal stimulus dollars. But when a lone security guard gives his support, Sanford's strained emotions begin to show. "I'm gonna lose it here," he says, a tear running down his cheek.
